Africa Energy Indaba

New member, Siyenza Management invited SANEC to the 7th edition Africa Energy Indaba, Sandton Johanesburg. The event was hosted by the Director General of the South African Ministry of Energy, Dr. Worsley Otto Barnard, who delivered the keynote address. SANEC Chairman and Vice Chair of the World Energy Council Bonang was among luminaires. The event introduced and launched the first Women in Energy Conference, hosted the 2nd very Successful Independent Power Producers and Power Purchase Agreements conference, as well as the series of the Indaba Energy Leaders’ Dialogues with the World Energy Council including:

• The inaugural Ministerial Trilemma Roundtable, with visiting Ministerial representation from Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, as well as other energy luminaries from acorss Africa;
• The Natural Gas in Sub-Sahara Africa hosted by Dr Christoph Frei, Secretary-General, World Energy Council;
• The Energy Efficiency Workshop, hosted in partnership with UNIDO and the NCPC-SA;
• The World Energy Council Trilemma workshop; and
• The Resilient Energy Infrastructure Workshop, hosted by the World Energy Council.

The event was a great networking platform for business in the enegy space and proved valuable to staff which attended.
